Xunantunich
Discover the breathtaking panoramic view of the Belizean and Guatemalan landscape. The impressive 130 feet tall temple is known for its ceremonial center, ball court, residential and recreational area and the famous ‘El Castillo’ palace. Getting there is half the fun as a hand-cranked ferry carries you across the Mopan River. Notable as well is the reconstructed frieze on the east and west side of the temple.
Barton Creek
Go back in time as you slowly glide aboard a canoe into a large riverine system of the ancient Maya. Flowing from a giant crack in a mountain the cave offers marvelous natural stalagmites, stalactites and impressive crystal formation. In this cave system you will see burial grounds, ceremonial pottery and much more including modified cave formations indicating that the cave was used by the Mayas for rituals and offerings.
Cahal Pech
Cahal Pech is located in San Ignacio town on top of a hill overlooking the twin town. The site consists of 34 structures with several courtyards including temple, pyramids and residential buildings. Cahal Pech means a “place of ticks.” Early settlers used that particular area to pasture the land. This royal acropolis-palace was the location of the elite where a Mayan royal family used to live.
Caracol
Located deep in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, Caracol is the biggest in size in the Maya world. The drive to Caracol will take you through the scenic Maya Mountain Forest and at its peak time in history was a supreme city. Caracol has also the tallest man made structure stretching 141 feet called Caana (Sky palace). Most of Caracol hasn’t been discovered as yet. Caracol defeated Tikal in major battles and architecture of Tikal mimics that old Caracol after defeat. This tour also showcases landmarks of Rio On pools and Rio Frio Cave.

Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM)
Cave of the stone sepulcher is the most popular ceremonial cave in western Belize and is listed #1 by National Geographic in the Top Ten Sacred Caves as well as its magazine in the August 2001 issue. Also featured in the Discovery Channel and History Channel. ATM features mesmerizing giant shimmering flowstone formations as well as stalagmites and stalactites. Journey through the same route the Mayas took hundreds of years ago. It has over fourteen burials, skeletons ceramics, stoneware a much more scattered all over the sacred chamber (over 1,400 objects). It’s easy to see why it’s a #1 tour to do in San Ignacio. It is named after the sacrificial chamber within the cave where the remains of a young Maya were found.
